I went to town the weekend just gone, with my Nan and after Emma the woman from people and planet came to talk to us about fair trade clothing I avoided going near Primark because of where they get their clothing from and how much they paid their workers.

After Emma had spoken to us it made me more aware of fair trade clothing and every time I went into a shop I stopped to think about where they had been made and so one of the items I brought was recycled. So therefore I had persuaded myself to look more closely at the labels I was buying and taking more notice of where they had been made.

I usually read magazines and occasionally i read books if something catches my eye. The reasons why i read magazines is because they are informative of latest outfits, make-up and hair style tips. But the main reason because of the juicy gossip on celebrities, just like most others.

I find magazines and the stories within the magazines interesting because it is interesting to know whats going on around the world, whats hot and whats not. Some also give great cooking ideas and whats on T.V for the following week.

After watching the video on evolution, it shocked me as to how much cameras and make-up changes the look of someone! I knew before watching it that cameras did wonderful things for people but seeing that is shocking and its no wonder that individuals views including my own on perfect has become realistic and is not natural.

I learnt that beauty does come from within and what you see in magazines, on the T.V and on bilboards isn’t so natural, infact the women and men are just like you and me and also that people should be happy with what they have!

After watching the two videos affecting global warming it is clear to me that there are many different views on glboal warming. Some say that they have found that it is a scam for people to make money from, and others say it is true and it is happening because of human influence.

Personally i believe that global warming is caused by both of the issues both from human influence and by natural causes. I believe we all have an influence on global warming from our every day life and by not preserving energy or protecting the environment, as we pollute the atmosphere without realising on a day to day basis. Natural causes are also affecting global warming and that is something that cannot be helped as they are natural.

My name is Sian, and i have recently turned 18 =)! Currently i am at college studying a BND in Travel & Tourism. Im finding the course interesting but difficult at the best of times! My favourite subject at the moment is residential study visit, this is because it is preparing us for our trip to the Gambia which we are going to in six weeks time we are going to for two weeks which i am really looking forward too =D. In this subject we are working in groups and planning our trips chosen that we are going to rep for the day when in Gambia which is giving us better team working skills and challenging us to provide great, fun customer service for those attending our trips!

The reason i am doing this course is because i am really interested about the travel and tourism industry as a whole and see myself having a career within industry! Another reason is because i love travelling and finding out about different ways of life in other countries.

My hobbies are that of a typical girl shopping, shopping a bit more shopping, going out with the girls, going out for meals, listening to music, seeing the family and of course the boyfriend… <3

The global issues i care most about is the current war state, how our troops are being sent over to iraq, iran etc.. to fight for other countries and leaving families devistated because they’re son hasn’t come home!

After  watching the climate changing video, my theory has changed some what. This is because as an individual i didnt realise the affect that we had on climate change. Now knowing that we are reaching the tipping point is worrying because it may not be long before the world over heats and the human life as known becomes extinct.

After watching the video it is clear to me that we should all take a little more care and do what we can to prevent the world reaching that ‘tipping point’. I will now try to keep up to date with the change in climate to be aware of what is going on with climate change.
